About Burning Man Project
Burning Man Project is the nonprofit that produces the annual event in Black Rock City, and works year-round in service to the Burning Man cultural movement. Together with the global Burning Man community, Burning Man Project is advancing a more creative, connected, and thriving society. “Burning Man” and “Black Rock City” are the registered trademarks of Burning Man Project.
About BRCvr
BRCvr began as a virtual world built by Burners, for Burners, recreating the spirit and principles of Burning Man inside Microsoft’s AltspaceVR from 2020 to 2023. It earned the Producers Guild Award for Innovation, the Aurea Award, and the No Proscenium Award for Best VR Experience of 2020.
BurnerSphere is the next generation of that work, an inclusive online portal into Black Rock City, where iconic art, theme camps, and a global community come to life year-round. In 2025, BurnerSphere won Experience of the Year, The Poly, from the Academy of Immersive Arts and Sciences.
