Three scenes from Burnersphere: Pink glowing heart in a 6 sided glass space, a single person standing on the playa, close up of geometric dark shape with light shining through cracks.

Be a Guest. Become Part of the Camp.

Here’s what each path looks like, and what it costs to join.

What is BurnerSphere?

BurnerSphere is the world’s first social VR immersive documentary platform and an official virtual Burning Man experience, created by Big Rock Creative in collaboration with Burning Man Project. Walk through Burning Man art and history. Meet people from around the world. Attend live events. Every world is explorable. Every moment is participatory.

You are not watching the story. You are living it.

Who are Guests?

The door is always open.

Create a free account and step right into the digital dust. No ticket. No VR headset required. As a Guest you have access to 13 worlds and 4 documentary films, plus many of our live events, including Swirly’s World Tour every Friday at 10am PT, your open invitation to wander deeper into BurnerSphere with a guided group.

Server costs shape what we can offer at the free tier, which is why the full library lives in Camp Mate territory. But there is real magic waiting for you from the moment you arrive.

Come take a stroll in the digital dust.

Who are Camp Mates?

Camp Mates are the heartbeat of BurnerSphere.

When you contribute Camp Dues, you are not paying a membership fee. You are gifting the experience to everyone who comes after you. Your contribution covers what keeps BurnerSphere alive and growing: server costs, new art coming into the platform, optimization, live events, additional functionality, and ongoing development.

As a Camp Mate you get access to a vast library of 92 explorable worlds, 19 Gaussian Splat experiences (PCVR and desktop only), and 38 documentary films and video experiences, with new content added every other week and a premiere event for each release. Some events are reserved especially for Camp Mate contributors.

For Theme Camps

Camp Mates who are part of an active theme camp have access to the Playa Planning Kit, a full camp toolkit that gives your crew everything needed to build your own world. Lay out your tents, vehicles, and communal spaces together. Design your decor and lighting. Then open your gates and welcome the community in.

It is not about what you get. It is about what you gift.

Four scenes from BurnerSphere: Person going through a tunnel of square shapes, a sculpture of two large winged figures, a person looking a a wall of images of colorful Burning Man people, multiple elaborately designed structures scattered in the desert.

How much are Camp Dues?

Keeping BurnerSphere alive takes real-world fuel—servers, software, and constant tinkering behind the curtain. To keep camp dues as low as possible, we’ve set them at just $48 a year. That’s your ticket to help sustain the magic.

Annual, ALL IN

$47.98/year

about $4.00/month

Monthly, month to month

$6.98/month

The annual option is ALL IN, full commitment, the most community-sustaining choice, and almost half off compared to paying monthly all year ($35.78 saved over 12 months). The monthly option is there so you can hop in on a month to month basis, jump in when you are ready and take a break when life calls. Or contribute both if you want to give a little more. There is no wrong way to show up.

How to Get Started,

Getting in is simple, whichever path you choose.

  1. Download BurnerSphere for your device. No headset needed on Mac or Windows. Going fully immersive? Get it on Meta Quest or Steam.

  2. Open the app. You’ll see a 6-digit code on screen.

  3. Go to burnersphere.com/code on any browser, computer or phone, and enter your code.

  4. New here? You’ll set up a free account first, Apple or Google sign in, or use an email and password. Already have one? You’re logged in automatically.

  5. You’re in. Explore as a Guest, or become a Camp Mate to contribute to the platform for everyone and unlock full access.

That’s it. No ticket, no fuss, just a few clicks between you and the dust.
